Meet the Kids: Hunter

Can you even imagine how difficult it would be to not have the ability to communicate your basic needs and wants? But, what if one day you were given the gift of communication – and for six years you made great strides in school and your relationships deepened, you experienced less frustration in life? And then, that gift of communication was taken away again! That’s what happened to Hunter. A young man on the Autism spectrum who relied on his iPad to communicate, until the device finally gave out. Variety’s generous donors have made it possible for Hunter to have his “voice” back through the gift of a brand new iPad. Armed with his new voice and an increased sense of independence – who know how far Hunter can go! To help a child like Hunter, visit
