Written by the Perk Girls:
The Perk Girls, co-hosts of The Perk talk radio show, first became involved with Variety Children’s Charity about two years ago, and it honestly changed our lives. We saw first-hand the truly amazing opportunities this charity offers to children with physical disabilities – from wheelchairs to scooters. We knew immediately that this charity is special, one-of-a-kind, and we wanted to help and be a part of Variety Children in any way we could! With frigid temperatures and freezing rain, The Perk had the honor to emcee the Tree Lighting Ceremony at Mission Farms last year. We pondered about what the turnout for the event would be given the extremely nasty weather, but it was a huge success. We realized quickly that being a part of Variety Children provides immediate gratification–we personally met so many families that had received aid from Variety Children. We can’t thank Variety Children enough for allowing us the opportunity to help, and the smiles and laughs from all the families is simply priceless!!
Through our 80 Stories, 80 Days campaign, we are asking all of you who have been touched by our organization in any way to share your story and help us gain more support for Kansas City children with developmental disabilities.
Unique Connect will donate directly to us for every story we collect through this campaign, so please submit your story now.
