It’s heart-breaking to think of kids without gifts at Christmas, and generous donors dig deep to bring magic to that day.
Now, I don’t want you to think I’m being a Scrooge – or anti-Christmas, it’s just that for Variety KC, we see heart-breaking needs not just this time of year – but all year.
We see a young man without the ramp needed to safely leave the house, and a little girl left out of birthday parties because she can’t get their power chair up the stairs.
We see kids struggling to communicate because the assistive tablet they need costs the same as two months of groceries. We see others watching their friends play from the sidelines or we don’t see them at all because there are no restroom facilities that fit their needs.
