Nevaeh is a loving, brave, determined young lady who loves to greet everyone with several “hi”s because she can communicate that by herself without prompting. Prior to COVID she would also hug and kiss everyone she met. She learned unfortunately that you have to not necessarily hug everyone- so she has learned to hug herself and gently rub someone’s arm and say “nice” to let them know she is happy to meet them. If she meets someone around her age that looks afraid she will stand by them and say “nice” or gentle” to make them feel more at ease. All of these accomplishments have taken a long time, with a lot of therapy and people that love her encouraging her that no challenge when met by her determination can’t be achieved eventually. Since day one she has struggled to meet her goals but she is always trying and smiling after repeated attempts to be able to accomplish her goals.
Nevaeh shares this attitude by cheering on her friends when they accomplish tasks as well.
