Meet Nolan!

Low muscle tone due to a genetic condition. Nolan just now started walking independently, but does better with a walker. He is a high fall risk due to poor protective reactions. His sitting balance is pretty good, though again he has poor protective reactions. He can push buttons, but his UE strength is affected by global muscle weakness

Nolan is a child who has overcome many obstacles since birth. He has exceeded expectations placed on him throughout his entire life. He has become quite the independent little guy physically, but more so in personality, and having a car he could independently operate would boost his self esteem a lot. He started preschool this year and I think he has become quite aware of his limitations in comparison to his peers. This could, in a way, allow him to be on a level playing field with them and he would just love it. I can see our family going on walks together with Nolan independently making his car “go”. It would mean a lot to our family.

Nolan only has a manual wheelchair which he can propel short distances. He would enjoy being able to control his car making it go farther without expending a great deal of energy. We are not under financial hardship, however, and if there are other children who are and would benefit this service as well, we would be glad if they could have this opportunity even if it means Nolan would not.
