Quinn was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome when she was 15 months old. Rett Syndrome has stolen so much from her…. her speech, her ability to walk or crawl, her use of her hands, and the ability to eat or drink. However, Rett Syndrome will never define Quinn or steal her ability to communicate with us. Her eyes tell us everything! Quinn has such a beautiful soul and an infectious smile. Quinn LOVES being outside. We enjoy going on walks, swinging, swimming, and when her older brother and best friend, Ayden, kicks the soccer ball with her! Her personality can make anyone smile! Quinn unfortunately suffers from seizures and requires 24/7 care. My husband & I decided after Quinn was diagnosed that we would not let this diagnosis define her or our family. Quinn enjoys traveling with our family to the warm weather at the beach or heading to the top of a mountain.
With the diagnosis of Rett Syndrome also comes with it orthopedic issues. Quinn attends therapy multiple times a week to maintain muscle strength and skills. This bicycle would be an absolute blessing for our family & Quinn!! She loves being outside. The thought of allowing her to have fun while continuing therapy at home is awesome for us! We try everything possible for inclusion. A bicycle would allow her to be outside riding a bike with the other kids in the neighborhood! That makes a momma’s heart so happy!!
