Adam has autism and is non-verbal. This doesn’t stop him from “speaking” to people’s hearts! So many people in the community have been changed by what Adam offers; friendship, a non-judgmental space to just be themselves, and love. Adam has a great sense of humor and the most beautiful smile! He is a hard worker, engaging and awesome to have on a team.
Non-verbal doesn’t mean non-productive, non-feeling or not important. Our son is learning employment skills both in the school and with an agency twice weekly. He is able to follow instructions and do an excellent job at the tasks that they have assigned. In 19 years, we have blown the lid off of what was initially expected from our son. We fully intend to keep paving the way and being advocates for change.
