Meet the Kids – Bella!

Variety Kid Spotlight – Meet Bella and read about her story from her mom.

Bella has complex medical needs, but it is not the sum of who she is. I would tell other parents to feel free to ask me any questions about Bella, I would rather have them and their children ask questions about why Bella acts or looks the way she does, then to have false information about her differences. I encourage other children who might be looking at Bella to say hello. Bella can wave back to them or say hello with her communication device. Bella is more like their child than different.

This car seat will help keep Bella safe as we travel to appointments both at CMH and the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. Bella has low tone and needs to be in a 5 point harness. She also has self-injurious behaviors and needs a well-padded car seat with special head support.

Bella amazes others with her perseverance no matter what life has thrown at her. The adverse events that placed Bella in foster care at age 7 and her medical challenges would render most people into giving up, but not Bella. By the grace of God, she has survived and continues to persevere through her childhood trauma and ongoing medical needs that include daily medical treatments, surgeries, and endless appointments and tests.
