Brody is diagnosed with Progressive Encephalopathy, Chore Hyperkinetic Movement Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Progressive Dementia, Amnestic, Autistic Disorder, Slow Processing Disorder. He has been through so much in the last year and extensive medical testing for his brain and progressive symptoms. He can no longer ride a bike. It is to difficult for him and he used to ride all the time. His spasticity in his legs seems to be making it really difficult on him to be active like he used to be a couple years ago. He has lost lots of skills and severe memory decline.
Brody is an amazing young boy that is funny and full of life. Over the last couple years he has struggled greatly. He has just been going through a tough time and lots of challenges medically and emotionally. He has Chorea that is a Hyperkinetic Disorder and Cerebral Palsy. With chorea he gets unwanted involuntary movements daily that affect his legs and body and spasticity from the CP. Brody has been struggling greatly with communication. We are hoping that with support of an iPad and noise cancelling headphones we can successfully help him communicate better. Brody has Autism and Amnestic Disorder. He has a really hard time most recently transitioning into public settings with any loud noise or bright lights.
Our hope is that these supports will reduce his anxiety and stress from his poor communication but also provide him access to virtual therapies and educational support. Brody has been so strong through this challenging year as doctors have tried to navigate Brody‘s care and get him feeling better.
