Elena is a 2 and half girl who was diagnosed with patent ductus arteriosis in the heart and four cavernous malformations. Elena has been attending physical and speech therapy since she was 7 months old. She has shown great improvements in her motor skills, but is still lacking in the area of speech. This communication device will help Elena’s brain and mouth work together to form words and phrases. The ability to communicate effectively will allow Elena to get her wants and needs, and not be frustrated.
