Gregory is a loving 11 year-old boy who was diagnosed with autism. He loves everything soft, treasures his video games and stuffed animals, and gives the best hugs and kisses. He’s brave, strong, and smart. These wonderful qualities are the things his mom wants people to see in him, not his struggles. The world for an autistic child is full of imagery, rather than words. On an iPad, an autistic child can create a sentence or even story using a series of images. By doing so, the child can communicate with parents, caretakers, and instructors without frustration. Since the iPad is mobile, Gregory will be able to take this communication tool wherever he goes.
