Victor is such an amazing kid. When he was born, he came with no instructions. He has taught me so much each and every day, he is teaching the world many new things too, and watching him grow and succeed is such a blessing. Victor is nonverbal, which leads to some behavior issues and lacks social skills. This has really effected everyday life for him, the family, teachers, and his peers.
He has started using an iPAD at school for communication and has been really grasping towards using it to communicate his needs. Technology is definitely one of his preferred activities so I knew it would be a hit. The thing I am worried about is that this iPAD is the school’s and for school use only. I am hoping to be able to transfer what is working at school to everyday life by getting him a iPAD and communication apps of his own. I believe it would be a great way of communication in all areas and that way everyone is on the same page. He sees therapist five days a week, two days at home, so we are always in need toys and activities to help build communication and positive play. Using these new communication apps and communication toys would benefit Victor so much in so many amazing ways.
