Meet the Kids – Porter!

If you believe every kid should be active, be social, and belong – please donate today

Porter and his sister Lennon both have been diagnosed with level 3 autism. Porter also has a diagnosis of ADHD.

Whenever the family goes out, Porter will run away unless he is in a stroller or restrained somehow. The family loves to go out for walks or to the zoo and it has become very hard with the kids outgrowing their current stroller and Porter being a flight risk.

The solution would be a Wonderfold Wagon. It is large enough to fit both kids comfortably and also have room to store necessities when they leave the house. The seats in the wagon are also removable so the wagon can also act as a pack n play on wheels and provide Porter a safe place he can go if he gets overwhelmed or overstimulated out in public. The wagon is large enough for us to use comfortably, but it’s still able to fit through most doorways and compact enough to fit in most vehicles. This wagon would make their lives so much easier/safer when out of the house and not having to worry about Porter running away. It’s hard to put a price on that kind of peace of mind.

Such a simple request, but so important!  If you can help families like Porter’s to get the safe equipment they need – please donate to www.varietykc.org/donate.    Thank you!
