The older you get, the more it seems the less you need or want during the holidays or birthdays. Instead of saying, “I don’t know what I want”, tell your friends and family you’d like donations to your favorite charity. Variety of Greater Kansas City makes it easy to donate online, and each contribution goes towards a child in need. By donating to Variety, children are given the gift of mobility.
During the warmer months, there’s nothing better than a hotdog and some ice cream for dessert. Why not combine the two into a treat stand? No, we’re not talking about a hotdog sundae. Your group could host a hotdog cook out and also serve sundaes.
Since Variety of Greater Kansas City is all about granting the gift of mobility for area children, hosting a walk or run to raise money is a great way to spread the mission behind the Catie Cares program. While it might seem like a tall task to pull off, you can do it by following a few of our helpful tips.
Catie is an active Variety child and ambassador whose shining personality and attitude drives her to make a difference in other’s lives. After receiving her adaptive bicycle from Variety of Greater Kansas City, Catie quickly found that mobility was the gift she had been waiting for. Her new bike allowed her to gain muscle strength and coordination that allowed her to play with her family and socialize with neighborhood children.
